Art School

I thought I might following in the footsteps of a couple of my class mates and start "publishing" some of my school work on my blog - so to all my Family and Friends that have been asking to see what I have been up to all year..... here is the start of many many more to come.

From the beginning Year 1, Term 1.....General Drawing.
Unfortunately the first few weeks are still firmly impregnated in my memory, nights of coming home, head in hands and wondering what the HELL I had done going to Art School...and that's not to mention the hours of struggling with drawing tiny boxes ;). I am now just thankful for the encouraging words from home and the cute little smiles and "you doing homework mummy" from my 2 year old son Charlie. Now, honestly, Art School is the best move I have made in years, ITS GREAT, why didn't I do is sooner... oh that's right, years of traveling across Australasia with a Medical Registrar ;)

As the weeks have passed I have settled in to my new life as an arty farty art student. Some days I find myself sitting in the quadrangle in ore of other students and teachers, listening to their stories about their journeys, adventures and projects around the art world. Mmmmm so much to learn, so far to go, and I'm looking forward to every moment of it.

As you see from the pictures our class has progressed from "tiny boxes", line drawing - learning to position, grid, observation and measure, to light and casting shadows.
